Search for Missing Monroe County Woman Ends in Tragedy as Body Found in Well
A missing woman from Monroe County was discovered deceased on Sunday.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) issued a notification to the community on Saturday at 7:52 a.m. to assist in the search for Shirley Obert, who went missing after authorities believed she was involved in an accident near Oxford Road and Abercrombie Road.
According to MCSO, she may have been wearing a Chick-fil-A uniform.

Obert was discovered dead at the bottom of a well in thick brush near her car on Sunday, according to MCSO. The MCSO believes Obert was looking for help when the incident occurred, and that it “appears to be a tragic accident.”
“It is not the outcome that we were hoping for,” according to MCSO. “Please keep her family and her co-workers in your thoughts and prayers.”
