SFPD Responds to Possible Knife Incident at Westfield Mall

A disturbance occurred late on a Saturday afternoon at the Westfield mall in San Francisco. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) responded to a call regarding a confrontation among a group of young individuals at approximately 5:45 p.m.

SFPD mentioned that one of the participants in the altercation may have been in possession of a knife. Unfortunately, by the time officers arrived at the scene, most of the juveniles involved had dispersed, and no arrests were made.

Police officers engaged with the mall’s security team, who provided information on one of the young individuals still present at the location.

This particular juvenile disclosed that he had sustained a head injury during the altercation. The severity of his injuries remains uncertain, as he declined medical assistance. Subsequently, he was released into the care of a parent or guardian.

SFPD did not confirm whether the incident took place inside or outside the Westfield mall, and no further details were provided by the department.
