Shooting leaves 1 wounded outside Target store in Baldwin Park

An investigation is underway after a shooting in front of a Target store in Baldwin Park left one person hospitalized Monday night.

The gunfire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the store located on the 3100 block of Baldwin Park Boulevard.

“As a precautionary measure, the parking lot and store have been closed until further notice,” the Baldwin Park Police Department posted on Facebook during the investigation.

Video showed police tape surrounding the front of the store as officers talked to possible witnesses.

One person was transported from the scene with undisclosed injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Authorities believe the shooting may have been gang-related but are continuing to investigate.
