Boston, MA – Frigid temperatures will grip the Boston area this week, with wind chills dipping as low as -1°F on Thursday. Residents are urged to bundle up and limit outdoor exposure as wind speeds of up to 10 mph will make conditions even harsher.
According to the National Weather Service, highs on Thursday will reach just 30°F under mostly cloudy skies. Overnight temperatures will plunge to a low of 15°F, with a slight breeze from the southwest maintaining the icy chill. While snow is not expected, drivers commuting on major routes, including I-93 and Route 128, should prepare for potential icy patches in the mornings.
The bitter cold continues into Friday, with highs barely breaking 30°F despite sunny skies. Friday night will see temperatures drop to a low of 11°F, exacerbated by light westerly winds. This persistent cold will ease slightly by Saturday, which promises sunshine and a high of 29°F. However, overnight lows will stay frigid, hovering near 21°F.
Sunday offers some relief with a daytime high of 37°F, but brisk winds of up to 11 mph will make it feel colder. Clear skies and dry conditions throughout the week ensure minimal disruption for outdoor activities, though anyone heading outside should dress in layers and use insulated gloves and hats.
With no snow in sight, Boston residents can focus on braving the cold and preparing for slightly milder conditions next week. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts and follow safety tips to avoid frostbite during this cold spell.
