Sioux Falls, SD – Snow is set to move into southwest Minnesota this evening, creating hazardous travel conditions overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals between 2-4 inches will affect parts of the region. The highest accumulation is expected along the Highway 14 corridor. Gusty winds on Saturday may cause blowing and drifting snow, reducing visibility.
A Winter Weather Advisory takes effect at midnight for Cottonwood, Lincoln, Lyon, and Murray counties. The advisory will last until 3 p.m. Saturday. Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility.
Officials urge residents to check road conditions before traveling. Strong winds may worsen conditions, making travel risky. Motorists should carry emergency supplies and allow extra travel time.
Stay updated with weather alerts and plan accordingly. More snow-related impacts could develop as the system moves through.
