Clearfield, PA – A snow squall warning has been issued for central Clearfield County, effective until 8 a.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) in State College reported the squall at 7:03 a.m.

According to the NWS, the squall, moving east at 45 mph, is producing intense bursts of heavy snow and wind gusts exceeding 35 mph. Visibility may drop to less than one-quarter mile within minutes, making travel conditions dangerous.

Areas along Interstate 80 between the DuBois and Snow Shoe exits, particularly mile markers 97 to 138, are expected to experience rapid changes in weather. Locations impacted include DuBois, Clearfield, Sandy, and nearby communities such as Hyde, Rockton, and Morrisdale.

Motorists are advised to avoid travel until the squall passes. If driving is unavoidable, exercise caution, reduce speed, and allow extra time for travel. Roads may quickly become slick and hazardous.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and be prepared for sudden whiteout conditions. The NWS emphasized the importance of preparedness, as snow squalls can lead to accidents due to the rapid onset of dangerous conditions.
