Spartanburg, SC – Residents should prepare for an icy night ahead as temperatures are expected to plunge well below freezing tonight. Wind chills are projected to drop to near zero in some areas, creating potentially dangerous conditions for those outdoors.
According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, lows tonight will hover around 27°F, with brisk northwest winds up to 10 mph making it feel significantly colder. By early Wednesday morning, wind chills in the teens will dominate, particularly across higher elevations.
The NWS advises residents to limit outdoor exposure, bundle up in layers, and bring pets indoors. Those traveling along major routes like I-85 or I-26 should exercise caution, as gusty winds could impact visibility and create hazardous driving conditions.

The weather will moderate slightly heading into Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 50s and clear skies.
Looking ahead, the weekend may bring a shift in conditions, with rain likely Friday night into Saturday morning. Highs Saturday are expected to climb to 50°F, though showers could dampen plans.
