South Carolina Forecast: Light Showers Late Wednesday, Warmer Weekend on the Way

Columbia, SC – A round of light showers will move into South Carolina late Wednesday night, but temperatures are set to rise heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 62°F. A 30% chance of showers develops after 7 p.m., bringing light rainfall across the region. Overnight temperatures will drop to 49°F with calm winds.

By Thursday, skies will begin to clear, and sunshine will push temperatures up to 77°F. Winds will remain light, creating a mild and comfortable day. Thursday night will be partly cloudy with lows around 60°F.

Friday brings even warmer conditions, with highs reaching 80°F. However, another round of showers is possible in the afternoon and evening, with rain chances at 40%. Drivers should be prepared for potentially slick roads during the Friday evening commute.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will see a slight chance of showers before noon, but mostly sunny skies will dominate the day, with highs near 76°F. Saturday night will be mostly clear, with lows around 58°F.

Sunday continues the warming trend, with highs reaching 82°F and a 30% chance of showers in the afternoon. Winds will remain light, making for a warm and breezy day.

Early next week, Monday’s forecast includes another chance of showers, with temperatures staying in the mid-60s.

While rain is expected late Wednesday and again on Friday, the overall pattern remains mild, with springlike warmth persisting into the weekend. Drivers should watch for wet conditions Wednesday night and Friday afternoon, but otherwise, South Carolina residents can look forward to a pleasant stretch of weather.
