Spartanburg, SC – Rain and thunderstorms are expected to move into upstate South Carolina late Wednesday night, bringing wet conditions to the region before clearing by Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will gradually rise through the weekend, offering a mix of sunshine and occasional showers.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin late Wednesday night, with a 60% chance of thunderstorms between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday. While most storms will be scattered, heavy downpours and gusty winds up to 24 mph are possible.
Thursday will start cloudy but will transition to partly sunny skies by the afternoon, with highs reaching 71°F. Winds will shift to the southwest, bringing a breezy but mild day. Thursday night may see a few lingering showers, though precipitation chances remain low.
Friday brings drier conditions with mostly sunny skies and a high near 72°F. A few isolated showers are possible Friday night into Saturday, but no significant rainfall is expected. By Sunday, temperatures will rise to the low 70s, continuing the warming trend.
Drivers on I-85 and local highways should be cautious of slick roads early Thursday morning. Stay weather-aware and prepare for changing conditions throughout the week.
