Los Angeles, CA – Residents of Ventura and Los Angeles counties are bracing for extreme fire weather conditions expected to peak Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Strong northeast winds combined with critically low humidity levels have prompted a Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Red Flag Warning across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, gusts ranging from 55 to 70 mph, paired with humidity levels as low as 8%, will create a heightened fire risk. These conditions are expected to impact the I-5 corridor, Ventura valleys, Santa Susana Mountains, and portions of the Santa Monica Mountains. Officials emphasize the potential for rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior.

Residents are advised to avoid activities that could spark fires, such as outdoor grilling or using power tools. Ensure evacuation plans are in place, and have an emergency supply kit ready. Stay informed through local alerts and updates on readyforwildfire.org.

The Red Flag Warning is effective until noon Wednesday, with winds expected to weaken slightly after that. Cooler temperatures are forecast later in the week, but dry conditions will persist, keeping fire risks elevated.

For the next five days, the weather in the region includes highs in the mid-60s with clear skies and chilly overnight lows. By Thursday, winds are predicted to calm, offering some relief.
