Southern California man, 24, arrested for stealing pizza, punching customer in face

A man was arrested after he allegedly stole a pizza from a restaurant and punched a customer in the face during the incident, authorities say.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued a release on Monday morning stating that a call regarding a fight at a business came in around 5:45 p.m. Friday.

Upon arriving at the business, located in the 22300 block of Barton Road in Grand Terrace, the deputy learned that an altercation broke out between multiple customers.

“A customer attempted to leave the restaurant with a pizza and he was attacked by the suspect,” SBSD’s media release said. “A second customer observed the altercation and attempted to intervene. The suspect punched the second customer in the face and fled the location with the pizza in a black Lexus sedan.”

Investigation into the incident led to the identification of the suspect as 24-year-old Henry Mancillas-Gomez.

Mancillas-Gomez, a resident of Lancaster, was arrested on Sunday at a motel in Fontana after his car was located there, SBSD said.

He was booked at the Central Detention Center for robbery. Inmate search records indicate he was released on bail and is no longer in custody as of Monday morning.
