A winter weather advisory remains in effect for southern Colorado, with snow and freezing conditions expected to create hazardous travel through Wednesday morning. Forecasters warn of slick roads, particularly along Interstate 25 and Highway 50, as snowfall accumulates across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall across El Paso, Pueblo, and eastern Fremont counties. The advisory is set to last until 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the heaviest snowfall expected overnight. Wind chill values could drop below zero, increasing the risk of frostbite.

Drivers should plan for reduced visibility and icy roads during the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Officials recommend slowing down, keeping extra distance between vehicles, and checking road conditions before traveling.

Beyond Wednesday, conditions improve as sunshine returns Thursday, with highs reaching the mid-30s. However, another storm system could bring rain and snow chances by Friday night.

Residents should monitor forecasts and prepare for additional winter weather later this week.
