St. Louis, MO — A significant warm-up is expected across Missouri and Illinois starting Saturday, bringing sunny skies and spring-like temperatures. Highs will approach 50°F, a stark contrast to the colder conditions earlier this week.
According to the National Weather Service, Missouri will experience highs near 35°F Friday before climbing to 50°F Saturday. Illinois will follow with a similar temperature increase, especially along I-64, where clear skies will dominate. Residents are advised to take advantage of the milder weather for outdoor activities this weekend, as colder temperatures are not forecast to return until mid-next week.
Saturday’s weather will feature calm winds from the southwest at 5 to 8 mph, making outdoor conditions even more pleasant. Evening lows will drop to the upper 20s but remain above freezing in most areas. Sunday will bring continued sunny skies and highs in the mid-40s for both states.
Looking ahead, temperatures will peak Monday and Tuesday, with highs nearing 51°F in parts of Illinois and Missouri. Those commuting or traveling should monitor conditions closely, as overnight lows will still hover near freezing. By midweek, a slight chance of rain may return to the region.
Enjoy the reprieve from winter, but remember to dress appropriately for chilly mornings and evenings. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updates.
