Medford, OR – A weekend storm is set to bring heavy rain, mountain snow, and travel concerns across southern Oregon, with impacts beginning Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, showers will increase Friday night into Saturday, with snow levels dropping to 3,800 feet overnight. Rain will persist throughout Saturday, with a high near 47°F and calm winds. By Saturday night, snow levels will lower to 3,500 feet, increasing risks on mountain passes. Travelers should prepare for slick roads, especially on Interstate 5 through Siskiyou Summit.
Sunday’s forecast calls for steady rain, with an 80% chance of precipitation and snow levels at 4,300 feet. Rain will intensify overnight, with a 90% chance of precipitation continuing into Monday. Washington’s Birthday will see cloudy skies and showers, with highs near 46°F.
By Tuesday, conditions will improve slightly, but scattered showers remain possible. Highs will hover near 51°F, with overnight lows in the mid-30s.
