Milwaukee, WI – Wisconsin residents should prepare for an arctic chill as temperatures dip well below freezing through midweek. The National Weather Service warns of wind chills as low as -15°F in some areas, particularly during the early morning hours Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service, overnight lows will range from 2°F to 11°F, with daytime highs struggling to exceed 23°F on Wednesday. Flurries are expected tonight across southwestern Wisconsin, which could create slippery conditions on roadways, including major routes like I-94. Drivers are urged to exercise caution during morning commutes.

The extended forecast shows a slight reprieve later this week. While Tuesday and Wednesday remain frigid, Thursday will bring highs nearing 37°F. This warmer trend may continue into Friday, offering some relief with a high of 40°F and partly sunny skies. However, another cold front is expected to arrive this weekend, with lows plunging back into the single digits by Saturday night.

Residents are advised to bundle up and limit time outdoors, as prolonged exposure to these conditions can lead to frostbite in under 30 minutes. Schools and businesses should monitor forecasts for potential delays due to hazardous travel conditions.
