Teen girl shot to death in unincorporated Riverside County

A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed in the unincorporated area of Mecca in Riverside County early Wednesday morning.

The girl, whose identity will not been released, was located by deputies just after 1 a.m. in the 91800 block of Avenue 66, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

She had been shot and sustained multiple wounds, and she was declared dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and investigators have not indicated if they have identified a suspected killer or motive.
