Memphis, TN – A rainy and stormy start to the week is expected in Memphis, with heavy showers persisting through Wednesday. Residents should prepare for wet roads and possible flooding in low-lying areas as rain chances remain high.

According to the National Weather Service, rain showers will increase Monday night, with a 90% chance of precipitation. New rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch are possible. The heaviest rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures hovering in the mid-40s to low 50s.

Tuesday’s showers will bring gusty northeast winds up to 10 mph, making for a damp and chilly day. By Wednesday, a 90% chance of rain remains, with potential localized flooding in poor drainage areas. The rain will taper off slightly by Wednesday night, though isolated showers may linger.

By Thursday, conditions will improve, with partly sunny skies and a high of 42°F. A warming trend follows into Friday, bringing sunshine and highs near 52°F. However, showers return by Saturday, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Drivers should exercise caution on wet roads, especially during peak morning and evening commutes. Keep an umbrella handy and prepare for a soggy few days.
