Nashville, TN – Tennesseans should prepare for multiple rounds of heavy rain this week, with potential flash flooding and rising rivers expected by the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Nashville, rainfall totals between 4 to 8 inches are forecast across much of Middle and East Tennessee through Monday, February 17. Cities including Nashville, Cookeville, Columbia, and Chattanooga could see the heaviest rain, with some localized areas at risk of 6-8 inches of accumulation.
The NWS warns that while flooding risks remain low through Friday, conditions could worsen by Saturday, leading to flash flooding and rising creek and river levels. Areas near rivers and flood-prone locations should closely monitor updates and be prepared for potential flooding.
