Austin, TX – A warm start to February is in store for Texas, with temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages through the workweek. Residents should prepare for potential record-breaking highs, increasing humidity, and morning fog that could impact travel.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Austin-San Antonio, temperatures will reach the upper 70s to mid-80s across central and southern Texas, with fog expected each morning before giving way to partly cloudy or sunny conditions. Winds will be light but could gust up to 20 mph in some areas.
Five-Day Forecast:
• Monday:Patchy fog early, clearing to partly sunny skies. High: 81°F.
• Tuesday:Fog before 10 a.m., then mostly sunny. High: 82°F.
• Wednesday:Partly cloudy with highs near 82°F.
• Thursday:Mostly sunny, warming to 84°F.
• Friday:Continued warmth with a high of 87°F.
Morning commuters should exercise caution due to reduced visibility from fog. Those planning outdoor activities should prepare for unseasonably warm temperatures. Stay updated with local forecasts and be mindful of potential heat impacts later in the week.
