Houston, TX – After a sunny and mild Friday, rain showers are set to return to the Houston area starting Saturday afternoon. Residents should prepare for increasing clouds and a 20% chance of light rain as early as Saturday evening, with conditions worsening overnight.

According to the National Weather Service, southeast winds of up to 10 mph will bring moisture into the region, pushing rain chances to 80% on Sunday. Showers, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected to linger through Tuesday, with highs ranging from the mid-50s to the mid-60s. Key roads such as Interstate 45 and Highway 59 could experience wet and slick conditions, so drivers should plan for potential delays and slower travel times.

Saturday’s high will reach near 61 degrees before rain develops, with overnight lows around 56. Sunday’s forecast shows a high of 62, but scattered storms may cause localized flooding in low-lying areas. By Monday, rain chances drop slightly to 20%, though cloud cover will persist. A more significant rain system could develop midweek.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and ensure outdoor plans are flexible. Umbrellas and rain gear will be essential through the weekend. Those traveling on Texas roadways should exercise caution and allow extra time for commutes.
