This California city was named America’s happiest in new study
A California city has once again been named the happiest in America, joining six other cities in the Golden State to crack the top 20 in a new study from WalletHub.
The study compared 182 of the largest cities across three key categories: Emotional & Physical Well-being, Income & Employment and Community & Environment.
“For years, researchers have studied the science of happiness and found that its key ingredients include a positive mental state, healthy body, strong social connections, job satisfaction and financial well-being,” the study said.
Fremont, a city in Northern California, once again was ranked the happiest city in America. The city often tops similar lists due to its high life satisfaction rate, fifth-lowest depression rate, and fourth-highest average life expectancy.
According to the report, the city also has the highest share of households with an income above $75,000.
“Another contributing factor to Fremont’s happiness is the fact that it has the lowest separation and divorce rate in the country, at only 8.9%. It also has the lowest share of adults who report having 14 or more mentally unhealthy days per month, so people in the city seem to be taking care of themselves psychologically,” the report said.
These are the top 10 happiest cities in the U.S, according to WalletHub
