This fast-food restaurant has the ‘best’ chicken nuggets, new report says
(KTLA) — Chick-fil-A, often the go-to place for many to get chicken sandwiches, is also the best place to get chicken nuggets, according to the Washington Post.
Emily Heil, the paper’s food reporter, reviewed chicken nuggets from the nation’s largest fast-food chains to determine which restaurants had the best ones.
The nuggets were judged in two categories: “those that comprise a sort of chicken paste that makes for a more uniform filling and those that employ whole pieces of chicken meat.”
Here is the final ranking from The Post:
- Chick-fil-A
- KFC
- McDonald’s
- Wendy’s
- Burger King
- Taco Bell
Chick-fil-A was determined to have the best chicken nuggets due to its “lighter breading compared to competitors and juicy bird.”
Taco Bell, on the other hand, was considered to have the worst chicken nuggets since the chicken was “tough,” and the nuggets often had uneven breading.
“I was wary as soon as I opened the clamshell; the coating on these guys was strangely uneven, with dark spots appearing randomly. I determined this wasn’t a one-off, since it occurred in two orders on different days (and confirmed by pics some others posted online). And in one of my orders, several nuggets sported what looked like bald spots, where the breading had come off before frying, leaving off-putting dried-out patches on the bird flesh,” Heil wrote in her review.
