Fort Worth, TX – North and Central Texas residents should prepare for a stormy week ahead, as thunderstorms are forecast to dominate beginning Tuesday and lasting through Thursday. Travelers along the I-35 corridor should plan for slick roads and possible travel delays.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the first significant round of storms is expected to arrive Tuesday night, with a 60% chance of rain. Thunderstorm activity will peak Wednesday and Thursday, with heavy downpours and gusty winds likely. By Thursday, rain chances rise to 70%, creating a wet and stormy stretch of midweek weather.
Daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the 50s and 60s throughout the week, with cooler mornings and evening lows dipping into the 40s. High winds accompanying the storms may reduce visibility, particularly during peak commute hours.
Monday will offer a brief period of calm and partly sunny skies with a high near 56, giving residents time to prepare for the stormy days ahead. Showers will taper off late Thursday into Friday, leaving cooler, drier weather to end the week.
Officials advise keeping an eye on weather updates and preparing for possible interruptions to outdoor plans and commutes. Stay alert for potential flooding on low-lying roads and avoid driving through standing water.
