Travel Advisory: Up to 7 Inches of Snow Across Northern New York Until Wednesday 10 PM

Burlington, VT – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southeastern St. Lawrence, southern Franklin, and southwestern St. Lawrence counties, with snow expected to begin Tuesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and continue until 10 p.m. Wednesday, with total accumulations of 4 to 7 inches. Heavier snowfall rates, up to half an inch per hour, are expected between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, potentially creating hazardous travel conditions during the morning and evening commutes.

Residents are urged to slow down and exercise caution while driving. Roads may become slick, especially in areas experiencing higher snowfall rates.

The storm will primarily affect the cities of Potsdam, Ogdensburg, Gouverneur, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and Star Lake. Officials recommend checking local road conditions at 511ny.org for the latest updates.
