Pontiac, MI – Scattered snow showers will sweep across Southeast Michigan through early Tuesday, delivering a frigid start to the week. Temperatures will drop between -5°F and +5°F along the I-69 and I-94 corridors.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Detroit/Pontiac, snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected through Tuesday afternoon. The coldest air of the winter season will linger into Wednesday and Thursday mornings, with wind chills driving temperatures even lower.

Tuesday’s forecast includes highs around 15°F to 19°F and lows plummeting to 0°F to -5°F. Wind chills could reach dangerous levels. By Wednesday, highs will range from 16°F to 21°F with lows between 7°F and 12°F.

The NWS advises drivers to exercise caution on snow-covered roads, especially in areas along I-69 and I-94. Reduced visibility may occur during snow bursts, impacting commute times. Residents should dress in layers and limit time outdoors to avoid frostbite in extreme cold.

A brief reprieve from snow is expected by Thursday, though temperatures will remain below freezing. Southeastern Michigan could experience even colder temperatures next Monday, as another Arctic airmass approaches.
