Two Suspects in Custody After Standoff Over Injured Female

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: On Sunday night, police officers in Bakersfield were in a brief standoff with potential suspects in an incident involving a female.

Around 8:15 p.m. on June 4, BPD got a call about an unknown problem. When they arrived, they found an injured female lying on the ground. The person was helped at the scene and then taken to a hospital nearby.

After helping the female who was hurt, officers went to an address on the 600 block of Sumner Street in Bakersfield that was allegedly connected to the woman who was hurt.

Officers from the BPD asked the people in the house to leave, but at first the people refused. At least two male subjects left the residence and were taken into custody after officers made numerous additional verbal attempts.

Officers then went into the residence, but it is not clear if anyone else was taken into custody or held for questioning.
