Salt Lake City, UT – Frigid conditions and a chance of snow will affect Salt Lake City starting Thursday night, potentially complicating travel.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will bring sunny skies with highs near 42°F and calm winds. However, temperatures will plummet to 24°F overnight as clouds gather ahead of Friday’s snow chance. Commuters on major routes like I-80 and I-15 should prepare for slippery conditions, as a 20% chance of snow arrives late Friday evening, continuing into Saturday morning.

Friday’s high will reach 41°F before the storm system moves in. Snowfall is expected to be light but could impact visibility during early Saturday commutes. By Saturday afternoon, conditions will clear, leaving partly sunny skies and highs around 31°F.

The coldest temperatures of the week will settle in Saturday night, with lows dipping to 14°F. Sunday will bring some relief with highs near 31°F under partly sunny skies. Residents are encouraged to bundle up and drive cautiously, especially overnight when temperatures drop and icy conditions are most likely.
