Ventura High School student, 15, found with gun during robbery arrest: VCDA

A 15-year-old Ventura High School student faces numerous charges after they robbed and assaulted another student on a bus, then were found to be in possession of a gun when police arrested them.

The teen allegedly robbed another student on a city bus on Dec. 18, and when the Ventura Police Department came to arrest the student on campus on Jan. 30, they found a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition, according to a news release from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

In addition to the charges, the teen is also accused of felony conspiracy, gang affiliation, carrying a concealed gun and possession of a gun in a school zone, the DA’s Office said.

The teen is being held at the Juvenile Center in Oxnard, and a trial is set to begin on Feb. 24.
