Burlington, VT – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 PM EST, with snow, ice, and gusty winds making travel hazardous across Vermont and northern New York today. Both the morning and evening commutes are expected to be impacted.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected, along with a light glaze to one-tenth of an inch of ice. Winds could gust over 30 mph, creating blowing snow and reduced visibility—especially during the evening commute.

Affected areas include Burlington, Montpelier, Rutland, St. Albans, Middlebury, and Plattsburgh, with conditions worsening throughout the day. Snow this morning will transition to freezing drizzle in the afternoon, increasing the risk of icy roads and slippery conditions.

Drivers should slow down, allow extra travel time, and be prepared for reduced visibility. For real-time road conditions, check 511 New York or 511 Vermont.
