Virginia Beach Hardee’s Shooting Suspect Granted Surprising Bond

The man accused of fatally shooting another man outside a Hardee’s in Virginia Beach earlier this year has been granted bail.

On Tuesday, Judge Steven Frucci granted Ishaun Riddick a $10,000 surety bond in response to an objection from the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

As per the terms of the agreement, Riddick will reside with his mother in Newport News and will have a 7 p.m. curfew unless he is employed. Additionally, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm and from interacting with the victim’s family or potential witnesses in the case.

Riddick had been in custody since March, two days after the shooting, when he was denied bail. The victim, Anthony Johnson, 31 years old, was found shot three times in the parking lot of the Timberlake Shopping Centre on Holland Road and later died from his injuries.

Riddick is facing charges of second-degree murder and firearms possession in this case.
