Houston, TX – A warming trend will bring pleasant weather to the Houston area through Saturday afternoon before showers and thunderstorms roll in late Saturday night. The National Weather Service advises residents to plan outdoor activities early in the weekend as rain and possible thunderstorms are likely to arrive by Sunday.

According to the latest forecast, temperatures are expected to climb from Friday’s high of 54°F to a mild 61°F on Saturday. Winds will shift southeast, bringing warmer air into the region. Saturday evening, a 50% chance of rain begins as showers and thunderstorms develop, potentially lasting into Sunday morning.

Sunday will remain unsettled, with an 80% chance of showers and occasional thunderstorms throughout the day. Temperatures will peak near 66°F before cooling to 55°F overnight. Wet conditions may affect roads, including areas near I-45 and the 610 Loop, so drivers are urged to exercise caution during heavy rain periods.

By Monday, skies will begin to clear slightly, with a high near 62°F and a slight 20% chance of lingering showers before noon. Tuesday will see more clouds, with scattered storms possible late in the day.

For those planning activities this weekend, Friday and early Saturday provide the best opportunities to enjoy outdoor events. Stay updated on changing weather conditions and keep an eye on flood-prone areas during heavy rain.
