Spokane, WA – Residents in Spokane and surrounding areas should prepare for a sharp drop in temperatures starting Monday night, as a cold front brings overnight lows in the single digits. Combined with patchy freezing fog, conditions will remain hazardous through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane, temperatures will dip into the teens and single digits Monday and Tuesday nights. Wind chills may make it feel even colder, creating health and safety risks for vulnerable populations. NWS has urged residents to wear layers, limit outdoor activity, and bring pets indoors to protect against the extreme cold.

Road conditions, including those on I-90 and major routes like US-2, may become dangerous due to reduced visibility from freezing fog. Drivers are advised to use caution, keep headlights on low beam, and allow extra time for travel.

The five-day forecast shows no significant warming until late Thursday. Monday will see highs near 25°F and lows around 11°F. Tuesday will remain partly sunny with highs near 31°F but plunge to 15°F overnight. Conditions remain chilly on Wednesday, with a high of 31°F and overnight lows around 18°F.

Community members should check on elderly neighbors or those without adequate heating, as prolonged exposure could lead to frostbite or hypothermia. Stay updated on weather alerts by visiting the NWS website or following local news for breaking updates.
