Spokane, WA – Snow showers and freezing fog are set to impact roads in eastern Washington and the Idaho Panhandle through Saturday, creating hazardous travel conditions. Residents should prepare for reduced visibility, icy surfaces, and potential delays on highways such as Interstate 90 and U.S. Route 2.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Spokane, snow showers will begin Thursday evening, with heavier bursts expected Friday and Saturday in mountain regions like the Cascades and the Panhandle. While snowfall in Spokane may remain light, freezing fog and low temperatures will persist through the weekend.

Friday will bring mostly sunny skies in Spokane with highs near 32°F, but overnight lows will dip to the upper teens. The coldest period will arrive Monday morning, with temperatures in single digits, marking the chilliest conditions so far this season.

Travelers are advised to check road conditions before heading out and to carry chains or snow tires if crossing mountain passes. Pedestrians and drivers should exercise caution as icy roads and sidewalks could lead to accidents.

For those planning activities, expect mostly sunny conditions Saturday and Sunday, but temperatures will remain below freezing. The region is also under a northerly flow, which will maintain the frigid conditions well into next week.

Prepare for cold mornings by dressing in layers, covering exposed skin, and limiting time outdoors. Stay tuned to local forecasts for updates on snow and temperature impacts.
