Charleston, WV – Residents should prepare for frigid temperatures Friday night, as lows are expected to dip to 12°F. While tonight may be bitterly cold, conditions improve Saturday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 41°F.

According to the National Weather Service, Charleston will see clear skies tonight, with winds shifting to a calm breeze by morning. On Saturday, southwest winds of 5 to 9 mph, with occasional gusts up to 22 mph, will create brisk conditions.

Sunday will bring partly cloudy skies and highs near 40°F, with lows dropping to 22°F. For the workweek, Monday’s forecast promises abundant sunshine and a warm-up to 46°F, giving residents a welcome break from freezing temperatures.

Drivers are urged to be cautious as some secondary roads could experience icy patches overnight due to subfreezing conditions. If traveling early Saturday, allow extra time for your commute.

Looking ahead, Charleston can expect a mostly sunny Tuesday with highs climbing to 46°F, followed by partly sunny conditions midweek. Evening temperatures will stay in the low 20s, keeping nights cold.
