West Virginia Winter Storm Watch: 4-7 Inches of Snow Expected Starting Late Saturday

Charleston, WV – A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for portions of northeast, northern, and southeast West Virginia. The storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds starting late Saturday night and continuing through Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snow accumulations could reach between 4 and 7 inches in affected areas. Wind gusts may peak at 40 mph, potentially causing hazardous driving conditions and disruptions during the Monday morning commute. The cities of Elkins, Buckhannon, and Snowshoe are among those in the storm’s path.

The Winter Storm Watch covers locations including Nicholas, Webster, Randolph, and Pocahontas counties. Residents are urged to monitor weather updates and prepare for challenging travel conditions.
