Paducah, KY – Strong winds and thunderstorms will impact western Kentucky midweek, bringing heavy rain and potential travel hazards across the region.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny and breezy, with gusts up to 30 mph. Rain chances increase Tuesday night, leading to widespread storms Wednesday. Highs will reach the low 70s today before cooling to the upper 50s by Tuesday.
Storms will be most intense Wednesday night, with a 70% chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Thursday remains wet, with lingering showers and gusty conditions. By Friday, cooler air settles in, bringing mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s.
Drivers should exercise caution on I-24 and U.S. Highway 62, as heavy rain and wind gusts could make travel difficult. Residents should prepare for possible power outages and secure loose outdoor objects.
