Western Massachusetts and Connecticut Weather Alert: Icy Roads Possible Thursday Morning

Pittsfield, MA – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for western Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, and eastern New York from 4 AM to 6 PM EST Thursday, with snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, snowfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches, with ice accumulations up to one-tenth of an inch in areas including Berkshire County, Litchfield County, and parts of the Hudson Valley.
Snow is expected to develop late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, changing to sleet and freezing rain by midday. Roads, bridges, and sidewalks will be slippery, especially during the morning and evening commutes.
