Western New York Braces for 3 Inches of Snow Tonight: Weekend Weather Outlook

Buffalo, NY – Western New York residents should prepare for up to 3 inches of snow tonight as snowfall intensifies. Conditions will grow breezier over the weekend, making travel hazardous in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are likely tonight with a 70% chance of precipitation. Winds from the southwest will reach speeds of 8 to 10 mph, dropping temperatures to around 12°F. Total snow accumulation is expected between 1 and 3 inches overnight.

Saturday will bring a chance of snow showers starting late morning, with highs near 29°F. Breezy conditions will increase as winds rise to 19 to 24 mph, with gusts possibly reaching 37 mph. Snow accumulation of less than one inch is forecast.

Residents should prepare for slippery roadways, particularly on heavily traveled routes such as Interstate 190 and Route 33. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and plan for delays.

Snow showers may continue into Saturday night, with gusts up to 31 mph reducing visibility. Temperatures will drop to a low of 25°F. Sunday will see a brief break with only a slight chance of snow showers and highs reaching 28°F.

The workweek begins with partly cloudy skies on Monday and highs near 32°F, though snow returns by Monday night, accompanied by gusts as high as 40 mph.
