Pittsburgh, PA – Snow showers and dropping temperatures are set to impact western Pennsylvania today as a cold front sweeps through the region. Morning commuters can expect a mix of clouds and sun, but conditions will deteriorate by late afternoon. A slight chance of snow showers is forecast between 9 p.m. and midnight, creating slippery roads and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures will reach a high of 27 degrees today before falling sharply into the teens overnight. Wind chills could make it feel as cold as 7 degrees. Drivers on major roadways like I-79 and I-376 should exercise caution, especially during the evening hours when snow and freezing conditions may combine to create hazardous travel.

Friday will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 22 degrees and lighter winds from the west. While no additional snow is expected, temperatures will stay well below freezing, making untreated roads and sidewalks icy. Looking ahead, Saturday will bring partly sunny skies with highs near 32, offering a brief reprieve before Sunday turns cloudy with highs in the low 30s.

As the cold front moves east, residents should prepare for frigid nights, with lows dropping into the single digits and teens through Monday. The NWS also warns of a 40% chance of snow Monday night, particularly affecting areas near Pittsburgh and northern Ohio.

Stay informed about changing conditions by checking local forecasts regularly and taking precautions when traveling. Bundle up, as wind chills could make outdoor activities uncomfortable.
