Pittsburgh, PA – A winter storm brought significant snowfall to the Pittsburgh area over the past 36 hours, with some locations reporting accumulations exceeding 10 inches.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh, efficient lake-enhanced snow contributed to high totals north of the city, while areas in the Laurel Highlands experienced heavy snowfall tied to a low-pressure system. Official reports show snow accumulations ranging from 1 to 11 inches across Allegheny and surrounding counties.

The highest totals were observed southeast of Pittsburgh, with locations like Laurel Ridge reporting up to 11.5 inches. In Allegheny County, snowfall ranged from 1.2 to 5 inches, with areas closer to the city receiving between 2 and 4 inches. Nearby Greensburg saw totals approaching 9 inches.

NWS advises residents to remain cautious on untreated roads as temperatures remain below freezing, leading to icy conditions. Snow showers are expected to taper off, but slippery travel remains a concern into the weekend.
