‘White Lotus’ snakebite scene was realer than you thought

On Sunday night’s episode of “The White Lotus,” Walton Goggins’ character Rick throws open the doors to cages containing a slither of snakes, resulting in another character being hospitalized for a snakebite.

In a serendipitous twist, however, Goggins was the one bit by one of those snakes in real life.

Goggins spun the tale on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Wednesday. (Content advisory: The full interview discusses mature themes.)

“As I was pulling the snake out, he didn’t want to come, right? So the snake turns around and he bit me,” Goggins explained.

Goggins added that he wished he could’ve played it cool, but his reaction was anything but.

“Oh my God I’ve been bit by a snake! Oh my God,” he screamed in a panicked voice.

Unlike the plot of the show, this snake was not venomous, though Goggins was taken to the hospital the next day as a precaution.
