Chicago, IL – A Wind Advisory has been issued for Chicago and surrounding areas, including Rockford, Waukegan, and Aurora, effective Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The National Weather Service forecasts southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with frequent gusts up to 45 mph. Sporadic gusts as high as 50 mph are possible in parts of northeast Illinois. These strong winds could blow around unsecured objects, cause minor tree damage, and result in isolated power outages. Drivers, especially those in high-profile vehicles, may face hazardous conditions on north-south roadways.
Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items and exercise caution while traveling.
