Winter Storm to Bring Up to 8 Inches of Snow in Minnesota’s North Shore

Duluth, MN – A winter storm continues to impact northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous conditions. Snow is expected to persist through early Sunday, with additional accumulations of 4 to 6 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, localized totals could reach 8 inches in southern Cook County. The Arrowhead region remains the most affected, with snowfall rates intensifying through the evening.
Winter Storm Warnings remain active for Minnesota’s North Shore, while Winter Weather Advisories cover northeast Minnesota and parts of northwest Wisconsin. Douglas and Bayfield counties along the South Shore will also see accumulating snow.
Travel conditions could deteriorate overnight, especially in higher elevation areas. Residents should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility. Officials advise against unnecessary travel.
Snowfall is expected to taper off by midday Sunday. However, another system could bring more snow next week. Drivers should check road conditions before traveling and stay updated on weather alerts.
