Fort Wayne, IN – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for northern Indiana, northwest Ohio, and southwest Michigan from 1 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday, with significant snow and ice accumulation expected.

According to the National Weather Service, affected areas could see 3 to 6 inches of snow along with ice accumulations of up to 0.3 inches. The advisory covers cities including Fort Wayne, Elkhart, South Bend, and parts of northwest Ohio. The storm is expected to create hazardous road conditions, with the Wednesday evening commute at risk of delays.

In areas such as Allen and Huntington counties, ice accumulation could cause power outages and downed trees. Officials warn that travel may become nearly impossible in some locations.

Residents are advised to limit travel, drive cautiously, and check road conditions via 511 services. Freezing rain and sleet may transition into snow overnight, making morning commutes hazardous.
