Winter Storm Warning: Up to 8 Inches of Snow for West Virginia Starting Sunday

Morgantown, WV – West Virginia residents in Eastern Preston, Eastern Tucker, and Western Tucker Counties should prepare for a significant winter storm beginning Sunday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from 1 a.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday. Forecasters predict heavy mixed precipitation, with snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and wind gusts reaching 35 mph. Hazardous road conditions are expected to make travel difficult, especially during Monday’s morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service, snow and icy conditions will intensify early Sunday and persist through Monday morning. The heaviest snowfall is likely overnight into early Monday. Strong winds could cause reduced visibility and drifting snow.
