Columbus, OH – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of central and west-central Ohio, as well as east-central Indiana, from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. Light snow and freezing rain are expected to create hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, OH, total ice accumulations could reach one-tenth of an inch, with snow accumulations around half an inch or less. Slippery roads and poor visibility may impact drivers throughout the morning.

Cities affected include Columbus, Dayton, Delaware, Springfield, and Richmond, IN. Officials urge drivers to slow down and use caution, particularly on bridges and overpasses, where ice forms more quickly.

For the latest road conditions, travelers in Indiana can visit 511in.org, while Ohio drivers can check ohgo.com.

Temperatures are expected to hover near freezing, with conditions improving by late morning as precipitation tapers off. However, lingering ice could still cause issues on untreated surfaces.

Residents are advised to allow extra time for travel and to stay updated with local forecasts for any changes to the advisory.
