Chicago residents should prepare for a rain and snow mix Friday morning as temperatures drop across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely Thursday night, with a 70% chance of precipitation. By Friday morning, the rain could transition into a wintry mix before changing to snow. The high will reach around 39°F, but temperatures will fall throughout the day.

Breezy conditions will accompany the storm, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph. Travel could be affected, especially during the morning commute. Roads may become slick as temperatures drop, increasing the risk of icy patches.

Conditions improve Friday night as clouds persist, but temperatures will drop to the mid-20s. Saturday brings partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-30s.
