La Crosse, WI – A winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall to portions of southeast Minnesota and central, north-central, and west-central Wisconsinfrom late Friday night through Saturday evening.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in La Crosse, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for cities including Rochester, Wabasha, La Crosse, Winona, and Black River Falls. Snowfall totals between 4 and 8 inches are expected, creating hazardous travel conditions. Unlike previous storms, winds will be relatively light, and temperatures will range from the low to mid-20s, leading to fluffy snow accumulation.
The heaviest snow is anticipated Saturday morning through the afternoon, impacting major roadways, including I-90 and surrounding highways. Drivers should plan for difficult travel conditions and allow extra time for commutes.
