According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory begins at 9 p.m. Saturday and continues through noon Monday for some areas. Counties impacted include La Crosse, Jackson, Monroe, and Trempealeau. Exposure to these frigid conditions could lead to frostbite in as little as 10 minutes.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity and dress in layers if venturing out is unavoidable. The NWS emphasizes the importance of hats, gloves, and insulated clothing to prevent exposure-related injuries. Pet owners are advised to keep animals indoors during the advisory.

Temperatures are expected to improve slightly by Monday afternoon. Until then, residents across Wisconsin should prepare for some of the coldest weather this season.
