La Crosse, WI – A wintry mix of freezing drizzle and snow is expected to impact La Crosse and surrounding areas Tuesday, creating hazardous travel conditions. Commuters should prepare for slick roads, especially in untreated areas, with freezing precipitation expected in the morning and snow accumulating by the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures will drop throughout Tuesday, with a high near 22°F and wind chills making it feel even colder. Snow and freezing rain are likely in the afternoon, with up to half an inch of snow possible. The wintry conditions may continue into Wednesday, bringing additional snow and ice risks.
Tuesday night will be cold, with a low near 16°F and light winds. Another round of snow and freezing rain could impact roads early Wednesday, with a 70% chance of precipitation. The midweek system may cause travel disruptions through Wednesday night.
